Mission Statement

Kutztown University Sports Medicine is committed to practicing the profession of athletic training within the guidelines established by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and within the rules and regulations adopted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Encompassed in this pursuit is the belief that all student athletes have the right to quick and competent care. As young adults, student athletes are expected to cooperate and participate in their care through the provision of accurate information and feedback concerning condition, treatment and individual needs. At all times, there should exist an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Staff Directory

The KUSM Staff consists of five, full-time faculty athletic trainers. The athletic trainers on staff are nationally certified by the Board of Certification and state licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. KU athletic trainers work under the direction and in conjunction with KU team physicians from Berkshire Orthopedic Associates  and Lehigh Valley Hospital. 

KUSM is devoted to providing exemplary care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses by staying up to date in the latest sports medicine research and technology, and to create an environment that promotes the total wellness of the student-athlete.
