Kutztown University provides this information to all current and prospective students and employees in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This act requires all higher education institutions tthat receive federal financial aid o make public their campus security and fire safety policies and reported crime and fire data for the previous three years. Additionally, this information must be disseminated to the campus community through the Annual Security Report and Fire Safety Report. The report provides crime statistics for the past three years, details campus and community policies about safety and security measures, describes campus crime prevention programs, and lists procedures to be followed in the investigation and prosecution of alleged sex offenses.The goal of this legislation is to help maintain a safe campus environment by increasing the awareness of crimes committed on campus, the security and fire safety policies in place and crime prevention programs available.
