Off-campus access to research databases is controlled by a system that requires you to first log in. Doing so identifies you as part of the KU community that has paid to use these databases.
Once you've logged in you should be able to use most of the databases exactly as they are used on campus: you can read e-books and you can print, save, or email articles. There's one exception:
If you're a KU staff or faculty member, you can use VPN to get the same network experience you have on campus. Contact Information Technology at 610-683-1511 or consult the IT knowledge base (search VPN) for instructions.
You can also get research assistance from librarians when you are off campus. There are many ways; this page explains how.
