Mangold Named KU Employee of the Month for August 2021
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Congratulations to Susan Mangold, assistant dean of students, on being named Kutztown University Employee of the Month for August 2021.
Mangold’s nomination from Dr. Donavan McCargo, interim vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, reads:
“I would like to nominate Ms. Susan Mangold for her leadership, planning and coordination of the university’s commencement ceremonies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Susan helped to reimagine and ensure safe and successful commencement ceremonies for all participants. She worked with many campus (and off-campus) entities to produce a socially distanced, functional and efficient event.
Behind the scenes, Susan accommodated many special requests, aided countless students and their families with timely responses to critical questions, strategized new approaches to various planning challenges and facilitated multiple cross-functional meetings. Even in the midst of coordinating and managing commencement tasks and responsibilities, Susan maintained her day-to-day work obligations, including chairing the KU Cares Team and facilitating the distribution of emergency funds to hundreds of students.
Thank you, Susan, for your contributions, commitment and dedication to your work as a KU employee.”
Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month, and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by President Hawkinson.
