Kutztown University Celebrates Women's History Month in March 2022
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – March is Women's History Month and the Kutztown University campus has many events planned to raise awareness on issues, educate and empower young women at the university.
Kutztown University's Women's Center has lined up a series of events that allow students the opportunity to learn more about the importance of this month and shed light on issues in today's society regarding women. The Women's Center collaborates with the Multicultural Center, Health and Wellness Center, Association for Campus Events (ACE), Residence Life and the Commission on the Status of Women in hosting regular semester events, some of which include keynote speakers. They also provide printed materials and resources by doing tabling on campus throughout the academic year, including tabling at new student orientation events.

Join the Kutztown University Activities Board and the Office of Student Involvement for an amazing women's history month event featuring Liz Plank. Plank is an award-winning journalist and was the executive producer and host of several critically acclaimed digital series at Vox Media and NBC News. Plank is a columnist for MSNBC and has been listed as one of Forbes' 30 under 30. She regularly appears on national and international television programs to provide a perspective on politics, gender issues and reproductive rights.

In this documentary, Chris Rock explores the perception of hair from members of the Black community before the rise of the modern natural hair movement.
Honoring International Women's Day

"Period poverty is a lack of access to menstrual products, education, hygiene facilities, waste management or a combination of these. It affects an estimated 500 million people worldwide." This event will raise awareness to period poverty, to break the stigma and to host a period product drive and "packing party" with the Community Outreach Center and the Social Workers and Advocates at Kutztown (SWAK) club to benefit a local shelter. Period products, and/or gift cards can be donated at the Boxwood House.

Ms. Feminista Jones is a feminist writer, community activist, award-winning blogger and author of the critically acclaimed Reclaiming Our Space: How Black Feminists Are Changing the World from the Tweets to the Streets. Her work centers Black American culture, critical race theory, intersectionality, women's health and well-being. This event is brought to KU by the Dr. Constance P. Dent and Dr. Ann T. Gundry Distinguished Speaker Series in Collaboration with the KU Women's Center and the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.
