The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching (CET) offers a variety of faculty-led Panel Discussions on Teaching and learning topics in an informal discussion based format. Each session offers the opportunity to discuss experiences and knowledge with colleagues.

Panel Discussion - Faculty-led Study Abroad: A Primer for the Curious

Time and Location: Thursday, February 27th, 11:00am-12:00pm in MSU 324

Panelists: Prof. Michael Covello, Dr. Greg Hanson and Dr. Derek Mace

Abstract: In this Panel Discussion, we will hear from three Faculty-led Study Aboard Program Directors. Dr. Michael Covello is in his second year as Co-Director of the KU Italy program, Dr. Greg Hanson has over 13 years running the KU Austria Germany program, and Dr. Derek Mace is currently preparing the 7th KU London study aboard program. These faculty will discuss how they created proposals and budgeted KU study aboard programs with students. They will also cover their experience with maximizing the student experience and dealing with in-county issues such as transportation, free time, illnesses, etc.

About the Panelists: Prof. Michael Covello, assistant professor of art, is in his second year as Co-Director of the KU Italy program, Dr. Greg Hanson, associate professor of modern languages, has over 13 years running the KU Austria Germany program, and Dr. Derek Mace, assistant professor of psychology, is currently preparing the 7th KU London study aboard program.
