Volunteer Leadership

Residence Life offers a plethora of volunteer leadership opportunities for students to take advantage of while living on campus. These organizations allow students to get involved on campus right inside their own residence hall. All of the student organizations coming out of the Residence Life Office are structured to help resident students develop their leadership skills through serving on committees, planning campus events, and participating in community service initiatives. Getting involved will not only help students to develop skills and meet new people, but will also provide them with resume-building opportunities and memories that will enhance their college experience.

  • Residence Hall Association (RHA)

The Residence Hall Association is a federation of 13 hall councils that provide Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Services with the students' viewpoints regarding campus living, organizes campus-wide events, coordinates large scale community service initiatives, and promotes pride and tradition in living on campus. Although the Residence Hall Association (RHA) is open to everyone, the Presidents and RHA Reps of each hall council as well as RHA's own Executive Board make up the membership board. This group meets weekly on Mondays at 6:00pm in the Dixon Meeting Room beginning in September.

  • Hall Council

Hall Council is an organization that is open to all students that reside in a residence hall. Each residence hall has its own hall council which consists of an Executive Board as well as a General Board that meet weekly to address residency issues, plan events, participate in community service initiatives, and coordinate fundraisers. All students living in the halls have the opportunity to run for an Executive Board position. The Hall Councils are highly active and visible student organizations on campus. Students interested in joining hall council should talk to their Resident Director or Community Assistant. This group meets weekly on Mondays at 9:30pm in each residence hall.
