Leadership

Minor

Students can receive a Leadership Minor by completing 18 hours in leadership and related courses. The Leadership Minor takes an interdisciplinary approach and allows students to draw from a variety of disciplines to study the context, skills, and process of leadership. The requirements to complete the minor include a Practical Leadership course and 15 additional credit hours made up of courses that are related to the study or process of leadership. The Practical Leadership course focuses on the personal development and the practical application of leadership skills. The additional courses correlate with the context of leadership (e.g., understanding groups and organizations), skills associated with leadership (e.g., communication and effective listening), and the process of leadership, (e.g., ethics, decision-making and collaboration).
