Grabowski Named KU Employee of the Month for March 2020

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Congratulations to Lisa Grabowski, coordinator of New Student Orientation, on being named KU Employee of the Month for March 2020.

Grabowski's nomination comes from three students:

"I have worked many on-campus jobs, but it has been a blessing to work with Lisa Grabowski. Not only does she push her student employees to the best of their abilities, but she really cares. Lisa will check-up on you randomly, remind you of the home you have away from home with her. Being from Philadelphia, I never paid much attention to my future and even after two years of being at Kutztown, I was still in the mindset of staying in Philly my whole life until Ms. Lisa assured me that I was destined for something much greater. She reminded me to never forget my potential. I feel like I can do anything thanks to her! She sees the light in every student and doesn't give up on them. She is my go-to and my mentor. She inspires me to be the best version of myself. Connections Orientation has been a marvelous experience, not only for me when I was an incoming freshman, but also as an employee."

"Lisa is very determined with a big heart. She is hardworking and super kind to her employees and fellow staff and faculty. She makes sure that everyone has a smile on their face throughout the day and that they are healthy and feeling and doing well. Lisa is a perfect representation of the Employee of the Month."

"Lisa always puts students first. She is compassionate, empathetic and understanding. She makes new students feel welcomed on their first day in the summer and all the way through until they walk across the stage. I have had the pleasure of working with her for three years now and I couldn't have a better boss. Not only does she deserve this, but the award was made for her."

Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month, and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by President Hawkinson.
