Spring Day at Kutztown University

Administrative Professionals Day; Thank You from President Hawkinson

Today is Administrative Professionals Day and I want to thank the many administrative professionals at our university for the wonderful service they provide to our students, faculty and staff. It is important to recognize your contributions in helping us to fulfill our mission. As administrative professionals, you provide the fundamental attributes that give structure to the day, and you provide the frame to many actions. You are the foundation of your department or unit, the cog that holds the wheel together, the water that primes the well. Especially on a college campus, the administrative professional is the one most likely to have the institutional history, experience and dedication to ensure the office runs smoothly. You are often selfless in your commitment to help students, supervisors, peers and others. As professionals, and caring people, you will rise up to face adversity and not hesitate to put in the extra effort to complete a task or project. This university is stronger because of the good work you do. Thank you, for all you do for Kutztown University.

Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson, President

Last Day for Tutoring

The last day for tutoring for Spring 2024 is Wednesday, May 1. Students can sign up for tutoring in Starfish by using the "Tutor" link next to their course or by using the "I Need Help" button. If a student would like to meet with a trained peer to discuss time management, organizational skills or test-taking strategies, an Academic Peer Mentor (APM) is a great resource. Students can sign up for APMs in Starfish under "My Services." Please encourage your students to take advantage of these services. Tutoring Services is located at 26 Rohrbach Library. Contact Tutoring Services at 610-683-4207 or tutor@kutztown.edu with questions or visit the website for additional information.

GEPAC Rating Day Professional Development Event

We invite faculty to join us 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, MSU, for Gen Ed Rating Day. All norming and rating for general education A1-A4 work products (written and oral communication) collected in Fall 2023 will take place during this dedicated workshop time. The new Category A: Analytic Rubrics can be found here. We are excited to continue developing analytic rubrics as they provide dimensional outcomes for the entire SLO. This process will help us close the loop as we take these outcomes back into the classroom for improved student learning. Thanks to everyone who participated in the revising process for these rubrics. Coffee and lunch will be served at the event. Please register at the link below. For any questions or concerns, please email gepac@kutztown.edu.
