Why are we implementing New MyKU?
The implementation of New MyKU is in support of the PASSHE initiative to increase collaboration and improve student outcomes.

How long will MyKU Legacy be available?
MyKu Legacy will continue to be available until we fully transition to New MyKU (Banner) after the summer term of 2024. MyKU legacy will not be generally available once we fully transition to New MyKU.

Where will we find the link to access New MyKU?
We have not yet published the link to the system as it is not ready to general use. We anticipate the link being provided in the upper right hand corner of the kutztown.edu website as the MyKU Legacy is shown today.

Will training be provided?
Yes, training will be provided. The OneSIS project team is partnering with the OneSIS Faculty Training advisory group to define the training approach. We anticipate training being available in early-mid February. More information can be found under the Training and Information section of the OneSIS website.

How will I access New MyKU?
Most users will access New MyKU through Banner Experience which is a portal application that provides access to the various items that you will need. More information on Experience is available in the demo section of the New MyKU website.

What reports will be available?
The OneSIS team has identified critical reports needed for the various go-live dates. We are also working to identify and develop critical reports for various constituent groups including academic support staff, department chairs, college deans, and functional areas.

Is Banner the same as Experience and/or New MYKU?
Experience is a portal that provides access to features and functions within Banner as well as links to other systems. Experience is a product provided by Ellucian.

Is this interface the same for students and faculty? Or will we continue to have different interfaces, such as we did in MyKU Legacy?
The interface is consistent for faculty, staff, and students.

What is the relationship between MyKU Legacy and Banner?
Banner will be replacing the current MyKU (PeopleSoft)

Can we view more than one screen at a time?
Most items in New MyKU (Banner) open in new tabs. You could view a student's profile, transcript, and registration areas simultaneously.
Faculty

Will cross listed courses reflect the total seat count and enrollment?
Yes, cross listed courses will show total seat count and enrollments.

Will we be able to pre-enroll students when needed?
Yes

Will faculty be able to assist with course overrides during new student events?
Yes

Will we create courses for Independent Instruction(II),Independent Study(IS), and for credit internships?
Yes

Will administrative staff and faculty be able to do course overrides when needed?
The ability to perform course overrides will be available if needed for your role.

What is the advising and registration sequence between old and new MyKU?
MyKU Legacy will be available to be used for advising for Fall of 2024. The New MyKU should be used to search and register for courses. You will also use the New MyKU to release advisor holds for Fall of 2024. Anything related to Spring or Summer 2024 should be done in MyKU Legacy (PeopleSoft).

What does 1 prep mean?
That is an internal attribute that we are working to eliminate display.

Do we still enter office hours in MyKU Legacy?
We encourage faculty to use Starfish to enter office hours.

Will there be a list of all advisees?
Yes, the list of your current advisees will be shown in the advising area of New MyKU.

Will students automatically be blocked from registering until the meet with their advisor?
Yes, registration holds will be utilized similar to what is in MyKU Legacy system.

Will there be the appointment scheduling thing that we currently have in MyKU Legacy?
We encourage faculty to use Starfish for scheduling.

How do you release a registration hold?
The holds are released by clicking on the hold button shown in the upper right hand corner of the student profile.

How does the New MyKU (Banner) affect D2L?
D2L will integrate to the New MyKU as it does today in MyKU Legacy. Over time we plan to implement enhanced features including grade integration, announcements, etc.

What about COE testing and holds we put on for clearances and candidacy for registering?
The test were created just like in peoplesoft and are used in pre-reqs as before. We will work with you on how to enter the test grades into the system. All previous scores that were in peopelsoft were moved over into banner.

How do the students know which courses have already fulfilled their requirements and which courses are available to complete their requirements (lAcademic Tile/Course Audit from MyKU Legacy)?
Students will still use MyKU Legacy for the degree audit until Degree Works is available in August.

Can you create a plan as an advisor for your advisees?
Yes, advisors can create plan or plan(s) for their advisees.

Are we expected to create these schedules for students?
Faculty and advisors are not expected to create student schedules.

Will assistant department chairs be able to override for courses?
If they have been given delegated access by the Dean/Dept Chair - Yes.

What is a CRN?
Course Reference Number. (Internal Banner Number)

Chairs can quick enroll students, how will that work?
Chairs will need to search the students and then register them.

How would we access advisor notes?
Advising notes will be in Starfish. Old advising notes can still be accessed in MyKU Legacy.

When students search for classes, is there a way for restrictions to be viewed in the immediate search results?
No, they will have to click on the course details similar to how they do it in the search in MyKU Legacy.

Does student information include ALEKS scores and Associates Degrees?
Yes, they will be shown in the student profile.

Can the New MyKU run in any web browser and operation system (Apple, Microsoft, etc.)?
The New MyKU is device agnostic.

Can advisors do degree audits in this system?
No, degree audits will be performed in the forthcoming Degree Works, which will not go live until August. Until that time, advisors can utilize the degree audit in MyKU Legacy.

What is the difference between two restrictions that can be overridden?
The New MyKU will divide prereqs into two different categories. A prereq could have a requirement of a college, major, level, departments.
Another category is class related, requiring a certain grade or prior course. An example is: ACCT 101 with a grade of C or better to enroll in ACCT 102.

Will checksheets go away?
No, checksheets are not going away. However, they will need to be updated to reflect the changes in the course prefix and major codes.

Will course waitlists be implemented?
Course waitlists are not planned for our initial go-live. We will evaluate the possible implementation of waitlists at a later date.

Do we know when the Fall schedule will be available?
The registrar continues work to enter the Fall schedule into the New MyKU. When complete, an updated schedule will be posted to the FAQ web page.

Will students also be able to search for classes in Gen. Ed. categories this way?
Yes, the course and catalog search look the same for faculty/staff and students.

Will students apply for graduation in the New MyKU or MyKU Legacy?
For Spring and Summer sessions, they will use MyKU Legacy. For terms beginning Fall 2024, that will occur in the New MyKU (Banner).

Will students need to register through New MyKU this semester?
Students will register through Experience, the front-facing portal that provides access to features and functions within New MyKU (Banner) as well as links to other systems.
