Counseling Center
Welcome to the Counseling Center (formerly Counseling & Psychological Services [CPS}) at Kutztown University.
In order to help students with mental health challenges they may experience during the academic year, we offer in person counseling services to Kutztown University students.
What types of services are offered?
- Confidential counseling services are provided to students at no additional cost.
- Services for students experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, family and relationship troubles, substance use, and other concerns.
- Services include, but are not limited to, initial consultation, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and community referrals.
How do I schedule the first appointment?
If you are interested in receiving mental health services at the Counseling Center, please call 610-683-4072 to schedule an initial consultation with a counselor. You may also schedule in person at 122 Beck Hall.
If you know you are seeking off campus referrals, please indicate that when calling to schedule your first appointment.
What happens during the first appointment?
At your first visit, you will be asked to complete forms and provide a medical history. Students who may have difficulty in completing forms may request assistance.
During the initial consultation session, you will discuss your concerns and options for counseling. Options may include short-term counseling with a counselor, group counseling, or a referral for off campus counseling.
