Temporary Faculty Positions in Biology

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Biology invites applications for full-time and/or part-time temporary faculty positions to teach introductory biology courses for majors and/or non-majors as needed for Fall and Spring in the 2024-2025 academic year. Preference will be given to applicants whose area of teaching expertise fits the needs of the department. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Biology or a related field; Ph.D. highly preferred. One year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent is required; and additional teaching experience in introductory biology for science majors or non-science majors. There is the possibility of engaging in student/faculty research. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant teaching ability required. Salary competitive.
