Part-Time Temporary Faculty Positions in Social Work

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The university is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Social Work at Kutztown University invites applications for two part-time temporary positions for the 2024-2025 academic year.  These positions will teach a range of courses in a joint BSW/MSW program, with opportunities to participate in the process of maintaining BSW and MSW accreditations. Experience collegial support in community service and scholarship including opportunities for research and development in School Social Work and participate in the works of the Center for the Study of School Social Work. Collaborate with faculty in developing theory for the program’s emerging practice perspective: the Family in the Social Environment. Successful applicants should be able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses during both the week and weekend executive schedules. Skills or willingness to develop skills teaching with online learning platforms required. Teach foundation and advanced generalist courses.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: MSW with two years post-MSW practice experience, and the equivalent of two years of teaching experience; demonstrated community service and a record of scholarship. Preferred: Doctorate in Social Work; and experience in the area of school social work and community development.
