Sociology Part-Time Temporary Faculty Position

Anthropology and Sociology - Spring 2025

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Anthropology and Sociology seeks a part-time Sociologist at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level to teach one class in Spring 2025. The successful candidate will have teaching experience with courses commensurate with the department's needs. Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas is preferred: medical sociology, race and ethnicity, social inequality, family, organizations, deviance, and gender. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service.  

Required: A master’s degree in Sociology or related social science interdisciplinary field and one year of teaching experience; Preferred: A Ph.D. in Sociology.
