  • Biography
Dr. Kremser is a native of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on school violence and security. He regularly presents his research at international conferences, including the American Society of Criminology's annual meeting. He actively works in the field as a security consultant, and is a state-approved school safety provider. He holds the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation, which is considered the gold standard for highly experienced professionals within the security industry. He has also completed active assailant response training with the National Association of School Resource Officers.

Prior to his academic career, Dr. Kremser served in the U.S. Navy. He also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Dr. Kremser continues to serve the community as co-chair of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Diversion Committee where he has helped influence juvenile justice policy across our Commonwealth since 2011. In 2023, he was appointed by Governor Shapiro to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Committee, which provides advice and recommendations to the Governor about juvenile justice policy.

Outside of the criminal justice arena, Dr. Kremser volunteers with the Museum and Archives at Lititz Moravian Congregation, where he enjoys leading tour groups and lecturing on Moravian history.

Dr. Kremser encourages his students to use the gifts, talents, and opportunities they have been given to serve others. He also believes that "along with studying very seriously, criminal justice students should strive to assume leadership roles on campus and within the community to prepare for the great responsibilities with which they will be entrusted."
