Recreation and Sport Clubs
A Recreation and Sport Club is a recognized student organization, which exists to promote and develop interest in a particular sport or physical activity. A club may be instructional, recreational or competitive in nature, however ALL clubs should have all three components built in their club to meet the needs of all members. Participation within a recreational and sports club is a privilege and an opportunity for members. It is believed that involvement in a recreational or sports club enhances the student’s college experience through healthy interactions with other students, leadership development and being physically active.
Each club, under the auspices of the Coordinator of Structured Sports and the Recreation and Sport Club Council (RSCC), is formed, financed, developed, governed and administered by the student membership of that particular club. The key to the success of recreational and sports clubs is strong student leadership, interest, involvement, participation, and communication between RSCC clubs, club members and the RSCC Executive Board.
