ROTC Course Registration
Kutztown University and Penn State University-Berks, Albright University, and Alvernia University Students who are Freshmen and Sophomores will use a Cross Registration form to register for a Lehigh University-offered Military Science (MIL SCI) section which will be taught at the Kutztown University campus.
Juniors and Seniors will use a Cross Registration form to register for a Lehigh University-offered Military Science (MIL SCI) section which will be taught at Lehigh University (LU).
Curriculum
FRESHMAN YEAR The basic course, normally taken in the freshman and sophomore years, provides training and instruction in leadership, public speaking, and basic military subjects, such as the Army’s role and organizational structure, history and philosophy of the Army, basic tactics, land navigation, first aid, group dynamics, and leadership traits and characteristics. Basic course students incur no military obligation and is only available to freshman and sophomore students. |
SOPHOMORE YEAR The basic course, normally taken in the freshman and sophomore years, provides training and instruction in leadership, public speaking, and basic military subjects, such as the Army’s role and organizational structure, history and philosophy of the Army, basic tactics, land navigation, first aid, group dynamics, and leadership traits and characteristics. JUNIOR YEAR The advanced course is normally taken in the junior and senior years. The instruction includes management, military skills, advanced leadership and tactics, logistics, administration, military law, ethics, and professionalism, and includes attendance at the ROTC Cadet Leadership Course (CLC). Students receive subsistence pay during their junior and senior years. To enroll in the advanced course, an applicant must complete either the basic course or the four-week Cadet Initial Entry Training (CIET); or have received basic course credit for previous military experience. Note: The Advanced course is a requirement for Scholarship and contracted cadets only and is not offered to non-contracted students. |

cross-registration Process
All Kutztown, Penn State Berks, Albright and Alvernia students must complete a LVAIC cross-registration form to enroll into LU Military Science courses.
Before submitting a LVAIC Cross-Registration form, speak with Steel Battalion ROTC Cadre to confirm which course you should enroll into based on your status.
- MS Level I - register for MIL 011-016 course at KU (T) and associated lab at LU (R).
- MS Level II - register for MIL 021-016 course at KU (T) and associated lab at LU (R)
- MS Level III - register for the correct MIL course and associated lab at LU that fits your schedule
- MS Level IV - register for the correct MIL course and associated lab at LU that fits your schedule
Complete and sign the LVAIC Cross-Registration Form.

3. Add LAB Course information in the space provided. The LAB section is directly under the Requested Course section. (There is no line on the form)

4. Submit your completed cross-registration form to the KU Military & Veterans Services, veterans@kutztown.edu, for processing.
KU Code of Conduct Statement (For Non-KU Students Only)
- Non-KU Students must also complete and sign a KU Code of Conduct Statement. This required form allows students from participating schools to use KU facilities as part of the ROTC program.
