Can I complete the program while working full time?
Yes, all courses are online and synchronous meeting times are decided by the class. Your internship/student teaching can be completed at a time that is convenient for you (but this portion would need to be completed during the day).

Do I have to start in Summer or Winter?
Yes, courses are offered once a year in rotation.

Do I need to currently be teacher certified to complete the program?
No, you do not need to be teacher-certified to complete the program. After review of your transcript, extra course work may be required along with field hours during your internship.

Do I need to provide SAT and PRAXIS scores to apply for the program?
No, SAT and PRAXIS scores are not needed to be admitted to the program

How long does the program take to complete?
With a summer start and courses taken consecutively, the program takes 18 months.

How many days do I need to be on campus?
To reach Teacher of the Visually Impaired competencies some days on campus throughout the 18 months are required. (blind fold training, braille final, assessment, etc.) 4-5 days are required on campus and the days are given well in advance.

Is there any funding through Kutztown University to complete the program?
Currently, there is no funding through the university for tuition.
