2023 

  • Randy Garcia De Jesus, Alyssa Blood, Ashleigh Hershey, Halema Bobby, Marie Fenstermacher, William Murray, Amanda Wirth, Sarah Cook, Sarah Greenberg, and Samantha Smith were inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta (the International Sociology Honor Society). 
  • Ethan Kish, Nikolai Kochel, and Jackson Weaver were inducted into the Kutztown University Chapter of the National Anthropology Honor Society. 
  • Anthropology majors Adrianna Moore and Emma Ketterer presented research on artifacts recovered from Stoddartsville at the Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference in Ocean City, MD. 

2022

  • Sociology major Sabrina Spicer was accepted into the ASA Honors Program, continuing a tradition of KU Sociology sending students to this prestigious program. 
  • Megan Birchard, Molly Lee, Hali Hatting, Alexis Martinez, Carole Easy, Sabrina Spicer, Jaime Baker, Jessica Kantrowitz, and Noelle Flynn were inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta (the International Sociology Honor Society).
  • Jessica Kantrowitz was inducted into the Kutztown University Chapter of the National Anthropology Honor Society. 
  • Anthropology majors Laura Zacharias, Amber Carroll, and Tyler Roberts presented research on stone tools, pottery, and glass bottles from archaeological sites in eastern Pennsylvania at the Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Chicago, IL.
  • Anthropology and Geology double-major Kahlan Tripp presented research on jasper quarries at the Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference in Ocean City, MD and the Annual Meeting of the Northeastern Section of the Geological Society of America in Lancaster, PA.

2021

  • Kaitlyn Carfagno, Tiersa Curry, Megan Roth, Angela Sorrentino, Nathan Hoffman, and Kelli Patrick were inducted into the Kutztown University Chapter of the National Anthropology Honor Society. 
  • Anthropology major Laura Zacharias presented a paper on lithic sourcing in eastern Pennsylvania at the Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in San Francisco, CA. 

2020

  • Caroline Fogarty, Laura Stackhouse, and Sheba Ali were inducted into the Kutztown University Chapter of the National Anthropology Honor Society. 

2019

  • Sociology majors Briana Zdradzinski and Kristyn Rohrer received Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Awards. 
  • Anthropology majors Haley Grebousky, Samantha Luskin, and Laura Yocum presented posters detailing their archaeological research at Stoddartsville at the Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference in Ocean City, MD.
  • Erica Cohen Hamilton, Melissa Metzgar, Laura Yocum, Haley Grebousky, Mikala Hardie, Katie Wash, Lilly Nguyen, Laura Gale, Kha Nguyen, and Sallie Redekop were inducted into the Kutztown University Chapter of the National Anthropology Honor Society. 

2018

  • Anthropology majors Sara Wingert and Carly Plesic received Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Awards. 
  • Anthropology majors Danielle Cannon and Carly Plesic presented a poster detailing the creation of an index of priority to aid in preserving the historic cemetery at Stoddartsville at the Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Washington, D.C.
  • Amandamae Baettcher, Sara Wingert, Caitlin Weber, Tabitha Martinez, Nate Brocato, Vale Deeter, Carly Plesic, Jessica MacAdam, Evelyn Kunce, Danielle Cannon, and Gregory White were inducted into the Kutztown University Chapter of the National Anthropology Honor Society. 

2017

  • Anthropology major Amandamae Baettcher presented a paper on the role of lithic sources in the peopling of the Americas at the 11th International Symposium on Knappable Materials in Buenos Aires.
  • Anthropology majors Danielle Cannon and Carly Plesic presented a poster on the provenance analysis of pottery sherds from Stoddartsville at the Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Vancouver, British Columbia. Dani and Carly also presented this research at the Undergraduate Research at the Capitol - Pennsylvania Poster Conference in Harrisburg, PA.
  • Anthropology major Sara Wingert presented a poster detailing her replicative study of projectile technology at the Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sara also presented this research at the Annual Meeting of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology, winning an award for the best poster.
  • Sociology major Kristyn Rohrer participated in the ASA Honors Program and the national conference in Seattle. This marks the fifth year in a row that KU Sociology has sent students to this prestigious program.  

2016

  • Sociology majors Yue Zhang and Kaylie Shambo were accepted into ASA Honors Program and participated in the national conference in Seattle. This marks the fourth year in a row that KU Sociology has sent students to this prestigious program. We now are 1 of 4 programs in the country to send 6 or more students to the national meeting in the last 3 years. We are also 1 of 3 programs to send students four years in a row.  
  • Anthropology major Kaitlyn Keenhold presented a poster summarizing the archaeological fieldwork at Stoddartsville at the Annual Meeting of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology in West Middlesex, PA.
  • Anthropology majors Madison Rice and Eleni Kalamaris presented a poster on the typological analysis of pottery from Stoddartsville at the Higher Education Council of Berks County Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference in Reading, PA.
  • Anthropology major Englysh Handlong presented a poster comparing the historic cemeteries at Stoddartsville and Eckley Miners' Village at the Higher Education Council of Berks County Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference in Reading, PA.
  • Anthropology major Johnryan Mascione presented a poster on the geophysical survey of Stoddartsville at the Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems in Denver, CO. 

2015

  • Sociology majors Jess Morrow and Liza Parker were accepted into ASA Honors Program and participated in the national conference in Chicago. This marks the third year in a row that KU Sociology has sent students to this prestigious program. We now are 1 of 5 programs in the country to send 4 or more students to the national meeting in the last 3 years. We are also 1 of 3 programs to send students three years in a row.

2014

  • Sociology major Theresa Gassert was accepted into the ASA Honors Program and participated in the national conference in San Francisco.
  • Anthropology major Brooke Ann Coco, Guy Sechrist (Vice President of AKD and Sociology minor), and Kristie Thudium (President of AKD and Sociology minor) received Chambliss Student Achievement Awards.
  • Kristie Thudium, Katie Meck, and Annemarie Daughtry presented at the Eastern Sociological Association.

2013

  • Chambliss Student Achievement Awards recipients include sociology major Jarred Schlottman (president of the Sociology Club) and sociology minor Briana Risch.
  • Annemarie Daughtry was 1 out of 40 students in the entire nation to participate in the ASA Honors Program at the national conference in New York City.
