GTU Charter

The Gamma Psi Chapter

Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU), the International Geographical Honor Society, was founded in 1928. With over 230 established chapters and more than 40,000 members, Gamma Theta Upsilon strives to advance the status of Geography, to strengthen student training, encourage student research and publication, and further professional interest in Geography. Gamma Theta Upsilon became a member of the Association of College Honor Societies in 1976.

Kutztown University is home to the Gamma Psi chapter of GTUGamma Psi was founded on February 10, 1965.

Retired Geography faculty member, and founding member of the Gamma Psi Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon, Dr. Robert C. Ziegenfus, donated the original charter during the Spring 2017 GTU Initiation Ceremony.
