Black Student Union (bsu)

BSU "serve[s] as a common bond for all students of color while maintaining inclusiveness of all students through identification with the organization. We encourage and promote black excellence through events and educated discussions." 

BSU generally uses space in the Multicultural Center for meetings. They host and cosponsor many exciting events throughout the semester.

multicultural greek council (mgc)

"MGC provides a forum of communication among the member organizations and oversees all membership intake efforts. Chapters of MGC hold membership in one of the following umbrella organizations: the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) or the National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC). Active MGC Groups at Kutztown include:

achievement initiative for male success (aims)

"The focus of the A.I.M.S. program is the academic and social advancement of male students at Kutztown University. It is KU's hope to improve the support network of male students on and off campus. The university hopes that by improving the male experience through the development of their academic, personal, and social skills, this will lead to higher retention and graduation rates for our male students. 

Mission: Through AIMS, we seek to provide every male student at Kutztown University a safe, supportive, and engaging support system so they can continue their education and graduate from Kutztown University.

Vision: To graduate every AIMS participant in four years from Kutztown University so they can live and lead a productive and fulfilling life after college."

SISTER is a newly formed group on campus open to all women or women-identifying students. While it is open to all women students, there is a particular focus on supporting our women students of color.

Frederick Douglass institute (fdi)

The Frederick Douglass Institute is a collaborative effort of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education to promote multiculturalism. The Institute derives its name from the example and legacy of Frederick Douglass. Douglass' commitment to education and dedication to social equality serves as a model for the services and programming the Institute provides.

FDI MISSION

The Frederick Douglass Institute at Kutztown University is an organization that encourages development of equality and diversity among faculty, staff and students through scholarships, research, forums, exhibits, conferences and visiting scholars. Our Institute encourages scholarship and facilitates the exchange of ideas around issues of cultural diversity and social equality among members of the campus community. We specifically promote activities such as discussions, forums, conferences, fellowship programs and exhibits in order to increase awareness of multicultural issues and promote racial harmony.

The JEDI Committee is a university-wide committee comprised of faculty, staff, and administrator members.
