Marketing & Communications
The Department of Marketing and Communications oversees the communication and marketing functions for the university. Offices within the department include Communications (which also includes Sports Information), Marketing (which includes Photography, Social Media, Design and Print Media and Tower Magazine) and Web and Digital Media (which also includes KU Radio, Web Technology).
Newsletters
Daily Brief - A daily e-newsletter emailed to faculty and staff provides KU event information and announcements.
Bear Essentials - A weekly e-newsletter emailed to students provides official KU announcements current events information.
Parent Bulletin – A monthly e-newsletter emailed to subscribed parents provides official KU announcements current events information.
Logos
The university logo and seal, the athletic logos featuring the Golden Bear and paw, and images of the KU mascot, Avalanche, are all trademarked items. By law, these marks cannot be altered in any way without permission from the University Relations Office. More information.
Photo Requests
To request photography coverage, please email photo@kutztown.edu for submission form. Provide at least 10 working days’ notice for coverage requests. Please note that a request does not guarantee coverage.
University Marketing also maintains an inventory of digital images for campus use. More information.
Social Media
University Marketing manages and maintains a strategy for the following official university social media channels: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube.
Any office or department that would like to create a social media account that represents the Kutztown University brand is required to meet with University Marketing. More Information.
Advertising
University Marketing can work with offices and departments to develop individual marketing strategies. All advertising and promotion, whether it’s newspaper, web, magazine, billboard, television or radio advertising, should be discussed with University Marketing. Beyond advertising, the team can provide creative design services and photography support for initiatives that support university enrollment. With extensive experience in graphic design, we focus on creating a consistent visual identity for the university.

Website Management
Kutztown University’s website (www.kutztown.edu) is managed by the University Relations web team, in collaboration with Information Technology. The website management includes adherence to and education of digital media requirements, guidelines and regulations (content and design strategy, Ingeniux Content Management System {CMS} training, accessibility, search engine optimization).
