For KU Students

Box Office Assistants facilitate the ticketing and sales of performances and events for KU Presents!, Intercollegiate Athletics and various departmental and student events across campus. They are also responsible for walk-up sales at events and assist with event logistics.

During the school year, a minimum of 4 hours per week is expected, 8-12 hours per week on average. Some Saturday shifts and show shifts will be required and assigned on a rotating basis. Office hours may fluctuate, but will be Tuesday - Friday. Good night and weekend availability is desirable. Candidates should also have several consecutive hours available during the week for office shifts.

Required skills:

• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in person, over the phone, and digitally
• Deliver exemplary customer service to all patrons, from purchasing tickets through attending the event
• Use office resources and software to provide information about and sell tickets for upcoming events
• Cultivate an accessible, safe, and inclusive environment for all students, visitors, and guests that visit or call the ticket office

Event Production Assistants assist the Production Coordinator with the technical needs for the various productions and events that take place in Schaeffer Auditorium, Schaeffer Little Theater, Georgian Room, and the Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research. From stage management and audio, lighting and live streaming setup and operations, to projections, load-ins and outs, setting up the acoustical walls and clouds, moving pianos and backline, there are many opportunities.

Special consideration is give to those with experience in lighting and sound board operations. Especially ETC Ion Lighting and Midas M32 Audio.

Patron Experience Facilitators (or Ushers) assist customers at performances and events for KU Presents!, Intercollegiate Athletics and various departmental and student events across campus. They are responsible for checking tickets, assisting with seating, directing patrons to amenities and assisting with event logistics.

During the school year, 3-6 hours per week on average is expected. Some Saturday shifts and show shifts will be required and assigned on a rotating basis. Good night and weekend availability is desirable.
