How can I change my major, add a minor, or change my advisor?
In order to change your major you will need to meet with the department of your new major. Certain departments have special criteria that must be satisfied before the change can be approved.
In order to add a minor you will need to meet with the department of the minor and fill out a change/add form.
In order to change your advisor you will need to meet with the department and request an advisor change. You may have the ability to request who you would like your new advisor to be however it is not guaranteed.

How do I get a Verification of Enrollment?
This document is typically needed for loan companies, insurance, discounts, scholarships, etc.
You can request a Verification of Enrollment by completing the form found here. This service takes approximately 3-5 business days. On the form, please list an email, fax number, or address to send the information to, and/or we can send it back to you if you need to upload it to a portal or submit it some other way.
Often loan companies have their own forms that they give to you that our office needs to complete a section of, so we can do that instead if you send us a form and give us your expected graduation date.

I want to take a course off campus, what do I need to do?
You will need to complete a Permit to Study Form and get it approved prior to taking the course. You should use the transfer course evaluator to review what the courses will transfer back as; it will also assist you in completing the table on the form. For the course to transfer back to Kutztown, you must receive a grade of “C-“ or higher. The grade you receive in the course will not be counted toward your grade point average (GPA). Business students wishing to take a business core course at another university will need to have approval from the Dean of the College of Business. Elementary Education students will need approval for all courses from their Dean.
Once you have completed the course, you will need to have the college or university send an official transcript directly to Kutztown to receive credit. The transcript cannot come through you, or it is no longer official.
Submit your transcripts to:
regoffice@kutztown.edu
Kutztown University
Registrar's Office
PO Box 730
Kutztown, PA 19530-0730Once the credits are posted, you will be able to view them by going to Student Self Service – Profile – Unofficial Academic Transcript.

What do I need to do to register for next semester?
- Make an appointment to see your advisor to select your semester courses.
- Your advisor will remove your "Advisor Hold" upon the conclusion of your advising appointment.
- Check to see when your registration begins. Go to your Student Self Service card. Select Profile. You will need to click the drop down for the desired semester above your photo. You then should be able to click on Registration Notices on the black bar on top to the right. If you have any holds, the Holds count will be greater than 0 on the black bar. You will need to contact the appropriate office to clear the hold before registering. “Enrolled in Payment Plan” will not prevent you from registering as that is a positive notification. You should also note the date and time at which you can register. We have assigned different dates for students according to credits completed.
- To register for classes, select your Student Self Service Tile and click on Register for Classes. Select Register for Classes again on the next screen. Select the term you are registering for classes for. Search for a course. Select “add” to the right. Make sure the course shows in the bottom right of your screen. Select “submit” at the bottom right of your screen. Make sure it goes through. You should doublecheck by going back to your Profile page for the term that you are registering for.

Some helpful hints:
- Register on a computer, not your phone.
- If you get the error message “ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF ARE REVIEWING YOUR RECORDS”, no one is reviewing your records (except yourself). You will need to completely log out of all registration screens and then try logging back in in 10-15 minutes.
- If the course is full/closed, our office cannot add you to the course. You will need to reach out to the specific department and see if they have a waitlist (not all departments do) as only department chairs are able to override closed course requests (at their discretion).
- If you have other issues with course registration, please reach out to the Registrar’s Office regoffice@kutztown.edu, and we can look into your situation for you. (Details and/or screenshots are helpful as we help troubleshoot.)

When can I add and drop a course?
For full semester courses, the Add/Drop period begins the first day of the regular, 15-week Fall or Spring semester. The Add/drop period provides students with one full week plus the weekend to add or drop courses without receiving a "W" grade. Classes dropped during this period will not appear on a student's transcript.
Please note that add/drop for Summer and Winter semesters as well as first half/second half/10-week/5-week courses will differ from the period indicated above. Please see the Academic Calendar on the Registrar's Office Homepage for details.
Students can make these adjustments themselves through MyKU, below are links to instructions on how to add or drop a class. -
