Academic Advising

All philosophy, political science, and public administration majors must be cleared by their academic advisors prior to online registration. The academic advising period for Spring 2025 classes extends from Tuesday, October 15 through Wednesday, November 13. Students will register online for courses for the Spring 2025 semester according to assigned times between Monday, October 28 and Wednesday November 13 (except for students who qualify for early registration). For more information on online registration from the Registrar's Office, visit here.  Please be sure to activate your PIN with the Registrar's office before online registration.

Before meeting with your advisor:

• Please review your progress toward your graduation requirements. You should have a copy of the appropriate check sheet for your degree program. You can download the appropriate check sheet from the list of links on the left side of this page.
• Please review the Spring 2025 Schedule of Classes to identify the specific courses and sections you are interested in. You should also identify several alternate courses and sections in case the courses or sections you are most interested in are not available when you register. You can browse all the courses offered at KU for the Spring 2025 semester online by accessing (New) MyKU. You can view brief course descriptions for all political science courses here and looking under the POL subject code.
• Please make arrangements to meet with your advisor. Advisor assignments are listed on MyKU.
