What is your connection to the arts?

Autumn has been involved in the arts from an early age. She remembers coloring with her father on paper placemats at the diner and sharing great connections with all of her K-12 art teachers. Now, she is finishing her 4th year as a high school art teacher in Philadelphia and enjoys crafting in her spare time.

Why did you choose KU’s Arts Administration program?

“I wanted to learn more about the business side of the arts. The coursework is extremely convenient for me as a full-time teacher with it being 100% online.”

What do you hope to get out of the program?

“I have already learned so many important lessons about fundraising and ethical/legal issues that I can apply to my work.” Autumn also hopes to learn more about taking on leadership roles in the arts and marketing for both her side business and current career.

Fun Fact!
Autumn has a side business selling handmade crafts for special events.

Which course are you most excited to take?

“My favorite class so far has been Fundraising and Development in the Arts because it can be applied to so many career paths. I am most excited to take Marketing Strategies and Planning to learn more about consumer behavior and ways to promote an arts business.”

What is your favorite local arts/cultural hotspot?

Philadelphia Museum of Art overlooking Boat House Row.
