Does Kutztown University offer military-specific orientation?
Yes! In addition to New Student Orientation, students who are using their own, or their parent's
military benefits, are provided with a targeted online orientation after they pay their Advanced Registration Deposit (ARD). -
How do I get started using my military education benefits at Kutztown?
We can help! Using military education benefits falls under 3 basic steps:
- Apply for your military education benefits (early and by deadline date)
- Complete and submit your KU VS Benefits Enrollment Certification Request Form (required every semester you want to use benefits)
- Submit your required benefit eligibility forms and paperwork (benefit funding will not be paid without required paperwork)

Most definitely! Not only does KU have a single point of contact to answer your questions and lessen the stress of the enrollment process, but we have a centrally located Veterans Services Center and Lounge for your use! Send us an email or call (610) 683-4228.

What degrees does Kutztown University offer for veterans and service-members?
Often, veterans wishing to build upon military training and interests choose a major in criminal justice, health sciences, psychology, computer science, or communications. In all, KU offers degrees in 100+ programs to help you meet your goals.

What is the deployment policy at Kutztown University?
Students who are deployed during the school year can receive an "M" or "military" on their grade transcript for classes they are unable to complete, and there is no academic penalty. Maximum flexibility is considered for financial obligations.

Will I receive credit for military experience and coursework?
Yes! Submit your official military/DoD Joint Service Transcript (JST) or your Community College of Air Force (CCAF) transcript to the KU Registrar's Office to have your military training/experience evaluated for possible academic credit.

Will my military benefits pay for all of my college education costs?
Military funding does not cover the full costs of college attendance for all benefit users. Factors such as the type of benefit you are eligible for and your status at KU (e.g. FT, PT, # of credits, living on or off campus, choosing a meal plan, etc.) must be taken into consideration.
