Scholarships and Aid

For Military & Veterans 

  • Student Veterans of America (SVA) – the mission of SVA is to provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation. 
  • Service to school – their mission is to prepare transitioning military veterans for their next chapter of leadership by helping them gain admission to the best college or graduate school possible. 
  • AFCEA War Veterans Scholarship – for service members and veterans that deployed abroad in support of one of the Overseas Contingency Operations. Recipients must be currently enrolled and attending classes in an undergraduate program part time or full time in an eligible STEM major degree program at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. 
  • AMVETS Scholarship – provides 2 types of scholarships for Veterans, Active Duty and Guard/Reserve members. 
  • VFW Scholarship – provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. 
  • Raytheon’s Patriot Scholarships – information about further financial assistance offered through Raytheon’s Patriot Scholarship. This is only available to Army veterans. 
  • Military and Veteran Scholarships – a pre-filtered list of scholarships available to military/veterans and includes suspense dates, funding amounts and application information. 

For Military Family Members

  • America’s child – provides higher education assistance and mental healthcare assistance for the children of military heroes: the fallen men and women who proudly sacrificed their lives fighting terrorism and whose strength and courage has kept our nation safe. 
  • Freedom alliance – provides college scholarships to the sons/daughters of service members who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country. Not only does this scholarship provide much needed assistance, it is also a reminder to the student that their parent’s sacrifice will never be forgotten by a grateful nation. 
  • Folded Flag Foundation – provides educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the U.S. military and government personnel who died because of hostile action or in an accident related to combat operations. Grants and scholarships are available to qualifying spouses of fallen heroes and their children (under the age of 26) to help provide a pathway to success by covering a wide range of living expense and educational needs, from kindergarten to college/trade school. 
  • Scholarships for Service – a free public resource for students of families with a military service background to search and access thousands of scholarship options. Every scholarship is specifically tailored for active, guard and reserve military, veterans, retired personnel, or their families. 
  • Fry Scholarship – these scholarships are for the children and spouses of service members killed in action. With this program there is up to 36 months of education at the 100% rate. 
  • Folds of Honor – offers two scholarship programs, both are based on unmet need. 
  • Hope for the Warriors – this program identifies, recognizes, and rewards post-9/11 spouses/caregivers for their strength, fidelity, and resolve despite adversity. Scholarships aid in continued education at a reputable, accredited university, college, or trade school for spouses/caregivers as they assume critical roles in the financial well-being of their families.
