Council of Trustees Approve New Officers at Thursday's June Meeting
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University Council of Trustees approved its new officers to highlight the Council’s June 2024 board meeting Thursday afternoon.
The Council approved its slate of officers of the Council for two-year terms beginning July 1, 2024; including Dennis Giorno ’94, chair; Kevin Harden Jr. ’07, Esq., vice chair; Phillips Armstrong ’71, secretary.
In other business, the KU Council of Trustees:
* Approved a resolution to recognize Mr. Thomas Heck for his contributions and service to the KU Council of Trustees. The resolution states:
WHEREAS, Thomas Heck has served faithfully, earnestly, and with distinction throughout his tenure as a member of the Council of Trustees at Kutztown University since 2012; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Heck has served Kutztown University as chairman of the Council of Trustees from 2018-2020; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Heck has served as chair of various committees over the years; and provided exceptional oversight, support, and advice on issues concerning all areas of the University; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Heck, through his business Heck Brothers Florist, provided wonderful support to the university over many years often generously providing arrangements for special events; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Thomas “Tom” Heck be formally recognized, through this resolution, for his exemplary service to Kutztown University while serving in these many capacities on the Kutztown University Council of Trustees.

* Approved a resolution to recognize Mr. Robert Grim, Esq. for his contributions and service as chair of the Council of Trustees, 2022-24. The resolution states:
WHEREAS, Robert P. Grim, Esq. has served as a member of the Council of Trustees at Kutztown University for eight years; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. Grim, Esq. has served as Chair of the Council of Trustees at Kutztown University for the past two years; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. Grim, Esq. has served Kutztown University faithfully, earnestly, and with distinction throughout his tenure as Chairman; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. Grim, Esq. has been a friend of Kutztown University, representing the community, making himself available for consultation, appearing at meetings when requested, and showing resolve in difficult situations; and
WHEREAS, Robert P. Grim, Esq. has been a generous benefactor of Kutztown University and has invested his time, knowledge, experience, and resources in protecting its interests in the community and beyond; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Robert P. Grim, Esq. be formally recognized, through this resolution, for his exemplary service to Kutztown University while serving as Chair of the Council of Trustees from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024.
