Kutztown University Radio Student Treasurer Wins Best Business Director

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University Radio (KUR) once again did not fail to impress at the 86th Annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards in New York City this March. KUR took home gold in one category and runner-up in five other categories. KUR student treasurer Devon Koch won “Best Business Director (Radio)” in the country.
Koch’s gold award was unique to this year because this was the first director award to an individual member of the radio organization in recent memory. Nominations are written by fellow members of the radio station and then reviewed by the IBS’s prestigious judges who make the decisions. Koch’s nomination was written by KUR student vice president Abigayle Regensburger.
“KUR is extremely proud of Devon,” station advisor and staff director Mike Regensburger said. “KUR’s student treasurer position involves a host of duties including keeping track of the KUR SBB budget, acting as liaison between KUR and KUSSI, designing and purchasing station promotional merchandise and acting as co-signer of all budgetary purchases at the radio station. Devon’s exemplary work in the position was not only recognized by her fellow peers at the station, but by national judges at IBS. We couldn't be prouder”.
