There are many clubs, activities, and groups that support the mission of the English Department. Each of these organizations offers experience in publishing, networking, and further exploration of English-related subjects.

KUCC
The Kutztown University Composition Conference (KUCC) features the original work of KU students produced in all levels of our Composition & Rhetoric courses.

KU English Club
The English Club is for anyone who loves to read, write, and learn. Kutztown University students from all majors are welcome to join. The club holds several events throughout the semester and organizes trips that revolve around a love for books.

Shoofly
Shoofly Literary Magazine is a student-run literary journal sponsored by the English Department at Kutztown University. Founded in 2004, Shoofly showcases original poetry, short fiction, and drama by students and members of the KU community.

Essence
Essence is Kutztown University’s fine arts and literary magazine. Striving to bring together visual arts and literature, Essence offers KU artists and writers the opportunity to have their work featured in an annual publication. The magazine is always accepting new members, and students from all majors are welcome to join and/or submit their work for publication.

The Keystone News
Since 1933, The Keystone News has been the official student newspaper of Kutztown University. The paper is published in full-color print five times each semester and everyday online. There are 14 paid executive staff members as well as additional writers, photographers and other contributors.
