Training Opportunities
The DSO staff is happy to provide faculty with the opportunity to refresh their knowledge about the implementation of specific accommodations within the classroom environment, and to provide faculty with the opportunity to address any questions or concerns they may have regarding the implementation of approved academic accommodations within their classroom setting. Topics of our trainings include creating accessible PDF's and PowerPoints to meet visually impaired students' needs, working with Autistic and Neurodiverse students, running inclusive and accessible campus events, and much more! If you are interested in setting up a training session for you / your department, please contact our office.
If you would like to schedule a department-wide, group, or individual training session with the Disability Services Office (DSO), please click HERE to complete the DSO Training Request Form. The DSO can facilitate training on various topics, including an Introduction to Accommodate, Implementing Approved Student Academic Accommodations, Creating Accessible Classroom Materials, Working with Students with Visual and/or Hearing Impairments, and more! If you work with any student groups, please be aware that the DSO is also happy to facilitate training sessions for student groups and clubs.
