Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society
The IOTA Chapter of the Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society was established at KU in 2007 and is an active student organization at KU. Membership in Delta Alpha Pi is by invitation only for graduate and undergraduate students who present documentation of a disability to the DSO and/or self-identify as an individual with a disability and meet the following academic criteria: 1) undergraduate student with a GPA of 3.10 or higher and 24 credits completed or 2) graduate student with a GPA of 3.30 and 18 graduate credits completed.
Members of Delta Alpha Pi serve as role models for other students with disabilities and have the opportunity to participate in mentoring and awareness programs and complete other campus service projects. In addition to chapter opportunities, members receive a Delta Alpha Pi membership certificate and official society pin. Students who continue at KU following induction are eligible to earn honor cords to wear at graduation through participation in Delta Alpha Pi activities and projects. Delta Alpha Pi International was founded at East Stroudsburg University in 2004 to recognize the academic accomplishments of students with disabilities. There are currently over 100 chapters internationally. For more information visit deltaalphapihonorsociety.org.
