Student Parking at KU

Student Vehicle Registration

All students who wish to park on the Kutztown University campus at any point during parking enforcement hours must register their vehicle(s) with KU Business Services Office and, while parked on campus, properly display an authorized parking permit.

Vehicle registration for those operated by students must be completed online via the MyKU web portal. Students must enter their vehicle information as reflected on their vehicle registration and state-issued driver’s license. Once the necessary steps are completed and the permit is purchased, MyKU will provide a printable temporary permit which, when placed on the dashboard of the registered vehicle, allows students to park on-campus immediately and for up to seven days. This gives students ample time to secure their permanent permit from KU Business Services Office.

Commuters and residents alike have multiple parking lot options on campus. After registering their vehicle through their MyKU account, students can refer to the campus map to see where their designated lots are according to the number of credits they have completed and the parking permit they received. Visit the Resident Student Permits and Off-Campus Student Permits pages for more information on student parking permit options.

The Basics of Student Parking

Students are required to park in white-lined spaces that are not restricted by signage or painting on the ground (i.e., 24-hour reserved, special permit, authorized or emergency vehicle only, etc.). Parking lots are assigned when you register your vehicle and are based on your residency status and the number of credits you have earned or transferred in at the beginning of the fall semester. Parking lot assignments are written on each parking decal.

All resident students with less than 30 credits entering the fall semester are considered freshmen and are assigned to parking lots B2, B3 and A4 on the north side of campus and receive an F decal.

All resident students with 30 credits or more are considered upperclassmen and are assigned to lots C1 through C5 on the south side of campus and will receive an R decal.

All commuter students with less than 30 credits entering the fall semester are considered freshmen and are assigned to parking lot A4 and A3 on the north side of campus, or parking lots D3, E1, or E2 on the south side of campus and will receive an X decal.

All commuter students with 30 or more credits will park in parking lots A2, A3, A4, A5 or A6 on the north side of campus, or parking lots D3, E1, E2 or F6 on the south side of campus and will receive a C decal.
