Tau Sigma National Honor Society is a growing, prestigious organization on KU's campus for transfer students!
Established in December 2016 by KU student Briana Zdradzinski, the Eta Mu chapter is the 4th Tau Sigma chapter within PASSHE. Currently with a few hundred members, this chapter recognizes transfer students who earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their first semester at KU.
Becoming a member of Tau Sigma- Eta Mu can lead to many opportunities and benefits. Members are recognized for their academic achievement and quickly get involved on campus. A national scholarship competition is held each year for Tau Sigma chapters. Each active member is eligible to apply. Opportunities for the Eta Mu Chapter at KU continue to expand as the chapter grows.

How do I join Tau Sigma at KU?
After completing your first semester at KU, your GPA will be reviewed by the Chapter Advisors for an invitation to join.
Qualifications:
- Full time or part time transfer student at KU
- Earned a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA at the conclusion of first semester at KU
If you qualify to join, you will receive an email to your KU Student Email to complete the online new membership process online.
Pay attention to deadlines for accepting membership! A student can only be invited to join Tau Sigma once. If a student misses the acceptance deadline, the opportunity is missed.

Does it cost money to join Tau Sigma?
In the new membership process online, you will be asked to pay a one-time, lifetime membership fee.
Money from this membership fee goes towards:
- Induction Materials: pins, certificates (guaranteed for new members)
- Honorary Cords (guaranteed for new members)
- Scholarship Funds
- Membership Events
- Chapter Expenses for Induction Ceremony
- Conference expenses
New members have the opportunity to purchase Tau Sigma merchandise at their own expense during the new membersship process.
Shipping is charged to the new members to receive Induction Materials and Honorary Cords to their personal address.

Are there requirements to stay a member of Tau Sigma?
Tau Sigma is a lifetime membership once you pay your membership dues.
Members are not required to maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA once accepted to join.
We highly encourage attendance and participation at any events or programs planned. When events or programs are available, members will be informed through Engage and their KU Student Email.
