CURRENT NEWS (3/24/2025) :

Summer 2025 Payment Plans are open NOW!

Fall 2025 Payment Plans are open NOW!

  • MyKU > Student Accounts card > Payment Dashboard > Payment Plans
    • Select the term and proceed!

Why set up a payment plan now?

  1. More time to make payments
  2. Each payment is smaller
  3. Easy to Adjust or Cancel
  4. Credit Card processing fee increase coming May 5, 2025 - plans set up before May 5 using an automatic payment method and in good standing will retain the current non-refundable processing fee for the life of the payment plan!  You do not have to use a credit card, but if yu are, save a little!
    • Rate is currently 2.85% for domestic and will be 3.0% on May 5, 2025
    • International remains at 4.5%

Authorized Users

Authorized Users can set up payment plans under their log on - that way they easily log in and maintaint them.  The ability to update plans is given to the log on that set the plan up.  We recommend if you will be an Authorized User - have that set up first and then log in to set up the plan.  Logging in as a student once they are on campus is difficult with multi-factor authorization.

Setting Up a Plan - If setting up a plan before tuition charges are showing (ie for Fall in the spring) please use the Estimated Tool Worksheet to determine how much you need your plan for.  Don't worry - you can adjust or cancel the plan later with ease!  Summer costs can be found here.

Editing a Plan Balance (includes cancelling a plan) - click here

    • To cancel - Edit the Payoff to 1.00 and email us to complete the cancel!

Changing a payment method assigned for automatic payments - click here

    • How much does a payment plan cost?

A payment plan costs only $35 a plan!

This fee will be added to your first payment and is non-refundable.

Late fees are $25.00 per payment.

    • Can the plan be set up for automatic payments or do I have to remember to pay each payment?

Automatic/Scheduled payments make it easy to avoid late fees and ensure your payments are paid on time!  Remember E-checks are the most cost effective way to set up a payment plan because credit cards assess an additional non-refundable processing fee.

You do not HAVE to utilize automatic/scheduled payments, but it is highly encouraged to avoid late fees from Kutztown University.

Credit Cart rate change - Credit cards are currently 2.85% for domestic and 4.5% for international cards.  Effective May 5, 2025, domestic cards will be assessed a non-refundable processing fee of 3.0%.

NOTE - if you set up a plan BEFORE May 5th, set up automatic payments and the plan remains in good standing - you will lock in the old rate for the life of the plan.

    • Enrolling in a Payment Plan

Enrolling in a Plan is easy!

      1. Go to MyKU > Student Accounts card > Payment Dashboard > Enroll in a payment plan

      4. Agree to the terms
      5. Make the payment of the first installment amount and the fee of $35.

NOTE: KU does not update plans based on the balance due in MyKU, nor does KU adjust plans based on financial aid additions or deletions.  The plan will remain as you set up unless you log in and adjust the balance.

Defaulting on a payment plan may remove this payment option.

    • Can a parent set up a payment plan?

      Yes!

Students must first set up the parent, or third party, as an Authorized User.

MyKU > Student Accounts card > Payment Dashboard > Authorized Users

The authorized user will get an email with a link and temporary password - they will want to log in within a short time frame before that temporary access expires.

The third party will then access their version of the Payment Dashboard using this link:

      https://secure.touchnet.net/C20841_tsa/web/login.jsp

      1. How do I make an extra payment towards the plan before my due date?

Making payments in advance and paying off the plan early is just fine!

Simply access the Payment Dashboard as an Authorized User, or student

Select Make a Payment > Installment Payment and adjust the amount if needed

NOTE: If you don't select Installment Payment - the plan will not know you made a payment and the plan will still be looking for the payments as originally set up.

      Payment Plan commonly asked questions

        • Are payment plans for the full academic year or by semester?

Payment Plans are set up by the semester; maximum payments per semester is 6 if you sign up early.  With the exception of the late plans, the 6 payment plans do not overlap and allow for year round plans.

Session plans are smaller due to the shortened nature of the session.

        • How much should I set my payment plan up for?

If you are setting your payment plan up before the tuition rates are known for the semester or before the bill is prepared, you will need to review the costs online and subtract your awarded/pending aid. We have an estimating tool worksheet online to help you!

Awarded aid is for the full academic year, so this should be cut in half.  Some loans have origination fees (Stafford loans of 1.06%, Parent PLUS loans of 4.2% ).  This means that these fees are withheld by the provider/lender prior to release to KU.  A Stafford loan of 2,750.00 would disburse (post) to KU as 2,722.00, for example.

Remember you can adjust the plan easily once the actual bill is prepared or the final costs are known.  There is no fee to adjust a plan or even cancel it.

If you are having trouble calculating the amount needed, please email or call us today!  We are happy to help!

        • When and how will my balance change in MyKU from setting up a payment plan?

Your balance in MyKU will be reduced by the payment plan payment you have made to the payment plan site.  This payment posts right into MyKU as a payment plan payment. Only the payments processed so far will appear to reduce your balance due.  Payments due in the future will not reflect against the balance due but will reflect on the statement for you to ensure the plan is for the correct amount.

The On Demand statement will help you to determine if the plan and charges are in good shape to clear the bill.

MyKU has Hold Codes to see if you are set up with a plan and if its sufficient to cover the bill or insufficient.

        • How will I know my Classes are safe from setting up my payment plan?

MyKU has a hold code to show Payment Plan is set up and sufficient or insufficient for the balance due.  The amount will show and the pending payments that are due!

        • Is there a payment plan for International Students?

International students have several ways to make payments and the options are dependent on the method you are using.

US funding sources - bank account or credit card allows you to use the payment plan just the same as our domestic students.

Foreign credit cards - you may use the payment plan just the same as our domestic students, but the processing fee for a foreign credit card is higher.

Foreign currency - you will need to work with the Student Accounts office to get a plan set up and post a payment outside the plan with Flywire manually.

          1. Email the Student Accounts team stating you want a plan and for how much.
          2. Student Accounts will reply with the amount needed for the initial payment and fee.
          3. Pay via Flywire immediately and email Student Accounts.
          4. Student Accounts will post the payment to the plan upon guaranteed status.
          5. Initiate further installments on your own and email us.

Click here for more information about Flywire.

We are currently working on an international payment method that will integrate with the payment plan - more information to come soon!

**Repeated default on payment plans will result in the removal of payment plan option and prohibit access to the plan**
