Biographical Statement:
Dr. Sharma earned her Ph.D in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX. She did her schoolings from Sikkim which is a small state sandwiched between Tibet and Nepal in the north eastern states of India. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in Psychiatry and Social Medicine from India. Dr. Sharma has worked in various national and international organizations in various parts of India and Nepal. She has also taught the courses on geriatric psychology and community medicine to the undergraduate medical and nursing students in various universities in India and Nepal. Dr. Sharma is very passionate about education and research. Dr. Sharma has taught both in-class and online social work courses at the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX. She has mentored undergraduate students as part of I-Engage Mentoring program to foster research interests among them. Dr. Sharma has presented papers various national and international level conferences. She has presented in Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) and Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR). She has published several articles in peer reviewed journals.
