Social Work Student Activities
Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) is an annual event hosted by NASW-PA, at which nearly 1,000 social work students and professionals gather to advocate for legislation that is relevant to the social work profession. Attendees visit their legislators throughout the day and tell them why such legislation is important and how it will serve the Commonwealth. (https://www.nasw-pa.org/page/LEAD, 2020)
The mission of the Social Workers and Advocates at Kutztown is to offer Kutztown University students interested in social work the opportunity to network and convene with students, professors, and community members to discuss issues, concerns, and events relative to the field and to participate in advocacy work.

What really bolstered my experience here was feeling like I was an active member of the Kutztown community. It’s empowering, and it leads to success. Try to get involved any way you can.
