- To provide opportunities for students to train in social work for careers in the field of child welfare in order to meet the demands of this field for competent social workers.
- To offer research and scholarship opportunities for faculty.
- To meet the needs of the field for technical assistance.

Participants in CWEB (Child Welfare Education for Baccalaureates). A program that covers tuition and offers a stipend to students who intern at a public child welfare agency with the intent to establish a career.
