Kutztown University Kicks off 2023 Summer Camps and Conference Season

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University is set to welcome more than 30,000 visitors to campus this summer as its 2023 camps and conference season is underway.

Kutztown University provides housing, dining and event services to programs ranging from athletic, arts and leadership youth camps; to professional, industry-based and academic conferences. Combining beautifully preserved older buildings with stylish modern architecture, Kutztown University offers comfortable, spacious and unique meeting rooms, outstanding athletic facilities, comfortable housing for summer programs and beautiful dining facilities.

Below is a select list of the camps and conferences in this year’s summer season schedule.

Berks Warriors Girls’ Basketball Shout-out Tournament

A 2-Day Girls’ Basketball Tournament consisting of teams from all over Pennsylvania competing in Keystone Arena and O’Pake Fieldhouse.

Music in the Parks

Music In The Parks is an educationally focused music festival that provides school performing ensembles the opportunity to learn from exceptional conductors in the field of music education today. Their mission is to bring together these student musicians and adjudicator-clinicians for performances with the result being musical growth, achievement and recognition for both the individuals and the participating music programs. 

The events take place over multiple weekends in the spring in cities across the United States. The event is culminated by a celebratory awards ceremony where all participants are honored for their commitment to quality in music education.

Philadelphia Gear Up

The GEAR UP program (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) provides early intervention support services and scholarships to a cohort of students in low-income middle and high schools.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Be challenged, both athletically and spiritually, while competing with and against the best the Mid-Atlantic has to offer. Featuring coaches and athletes from the professional, collegiate and high school ranks, this camp is sure to not only make you the best athlete you can be but also invest in you off the field as a young man or young woman. With multiple FCA Sports Specific camps going on at the same time on campus, you will have the opportunity to interact with 100's of athletes striving to be the best they can be.

An overnight music camp with lectures and performances comprising of student musicians from all over Northeastern PA.

A residential camp for middle School students in Rotary District #7430. Students will experience art labs and equipment, a planetarium, observatory, living and eating on a university campus.

Change Summer Camp is a sleepaway summer camp that offers campers entering grades 4-9 the opportunity to expand their horizons through athletics, the arts, STEM, outdoor adventure, swimming, social-emotional learning and other fun activities. Change Summer Camp gives campers the chance to challenge themselves in a safe space, and make new, long-lasting friendships.
