KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Congratulations to Yelitza Pagan, enterprise desktop technologist, Office of Information Technology, on being named Kutztown University Employee of the Month for January 2023.

Pagan’s nomination from Tyler Schwab, manager of Client Technology & Support, Office of Information Technology, reads:

“As a Kutztown graduate of our wonderful Computer Science & Information Technology program, Yelitza Pagan was eager to join the Office of Information Technology as a Help Center analyst under the tutelage of 2018 KU Employee of the Year Sharon Young. Yelitza quickly shined, gaining respect from those of us in I.T., as well as her peers in other areas of campus.

Yelitza tackled new challenges with the headstrong attitude of a new college grad but did so with the grace of a seasoned I.T. veteran. So impressive are her skills, that she successfully interviewed for a position as a Systems Administrator, beginning her climb up the I.T. ranks.

In this role, she has continued her eager-to-learn attitude. She is a quick study and is always there to help anyone who asks. She has assisted numerous times in coverage of her old position without a single complaint as Information Technology has managed staff turnover, sickness, and the occasional vacation day.

The Office of Information Technology meets its goals because of Yelitza's contributions, and Kutztown University is a better work environment because of her kind attitude toward her peers. For these reasons, I am nominating Yelitza Pagan for Employee of the Month.”

Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month, and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by President Hawkinson.
