Snyder Named KU Employee of the Month for February 2021

Hawkinson presenting Snyder with award.

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Congratulations to Nancy Snyder, custodial worker, on being named Kutztown University Employee of the Month for February 2021.

Snyder's nomination from Carissa Pokorny-Golden, associate dean, College of Education, reads:

"Throughout my time in Beekey, Nancy has been the tried-and-true employee that staff and students come to when they have an issue within the building. Nancy is always willing to assist when problems crop up. All our classrooms are always above and beyond clean because Nancy makes sure to do her job well. Her work ethic is outstanding.

Nancy is not only an amazing professional, but an exemplary person. She is one of the most approachable, friendly and caring people I know on this campus. She interacts with others, truly caring and listening to them. I can distinctly remember a time when I was upset due to the illness of my parent. Nancy asked how I was doing. The next day I came into my office and she had left a card and gift on my desk for me. It was certainly not expected, but I can honestly say it made my day a whole lot brighter. Without a doubt, Nancy makes Beekey a better place to work every day. Her interactions with students, faculty and staff make our building more like a family. Her enthusiasm for her job and her contributions to our mission make her a valuable member of our campus community."

Note: recipients will be recognized in order of presentation, due to scheduling conflicts.

Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month, and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by President Hawkinson.
