Ellis Named 2022 Winner of Award for Achievement in Data Analytics

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Connor Ellis ’21, Maple Glen, Pa., was named the 2021-2022 winner of the $1,000 Liquid Interactive Award for Achievement in Data Analytics at Kutztown University.

Ellis graduated from KU's Master of Science in computer science program, as well as the Graduate Data Analytics Certificate program in December. Ellis received the award for outstanding work in introducing his class to semi-automated data correlation techniques not previously used in CSC558 Data Mining and Predictive Analytics II, as part of his capstone project presentation.

Kutztown has offered this 12-credit certificate program since 2019, using courses first taught in 2017. Certificate credits can be used in the master's program, as an MBA track, an undergraduate computer science or information technology major and several of the courses appear in an undergraduate business minor. The creation of the data science programs at Kutztown was driven in part by recommendations from the department's regional Industrial Advisory Board.

The award is in its fifth year and is sponsored by Liquid Interactive, Allentown, Pa. For more information visit www.liquidint.com. Learn more about KU's computer science department online at https://www.kutztown.edu/csit or by contacting csitdepartment@kutztown.edu or 610-683-4340.
