KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University and Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN), Willow Grove, Pa., signed a Letter of Understanding, allowing EASTERN commercial art students to earn dual credits upon their enrollment at KU.

EASTERN students have the potential to earn up to six advance credits for CDE 10 (Digital Foundations) and FAR 15 (Drawing 1) at Kutztown University. Qualifying students must be accepted to Kutztown University and enrolled in any undergraduate visual art program.

This agreement saves students time and money in one of KU's undergraduate visual art programs, including art history, animated arts, art, communication design, art education and art education/alternative settings. Commercial art students who take advantage of this agreement can save more than $2,000 during their first year of college.

"Kutztown University is well-known for its outstanding art programs, and we are so pleased to be able to offer our Commercial Art students the opportunity to earn college credit toward a degree at Kutztown,” said Dr. Cathleen Plesnarski, EASTERN’s Executive Director. “We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of education in all of our programs, and Kutztown University shares the same dedication to education. This partnership will assist our Commercial Art students in making the postsecondary transition a bit easier with college credits already earned."

EASTERN is a public school serving students in nine Eastern Montgomery County school districts. Those districts include Abington, Bryn Athyn, Cheltenham, Hatboro-Horsham, Jenkintown, Lower Moreland, Springfield, Upper Dublin and Upper Moreland. Students benefit from specialized career programs that give them a competitive edge in college or in a career.  The campus is at 3075 Terwood Road in Willow Grove.
