Student Trustee Appointed at Kutztown University

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Evan Santos ’23 has been named Kutztown University's newest addition to its Council of Trustees. Santos' appointment as student trustee was approved at Thursday's State System Board of Governor's meeting.

Santos, of Blandon, Pa., is a junior public relations major pursuing five minors: Cinema, Television and Media Production, Social Media Theory and Strategy, Communications Studies, Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and Professional Writing. He is a four-time Dean's List student and recipient of a Presidents Academic Honors Scholarship.

A member of KU's Honors Program, Santos serves as the Honors club president, the Honors public relations committee and is an Honors peer mentor. He also works as a student assistant in the Office of Sports Information and as a tour guide for the Office of Admissions.

Santos is a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School.

The Council of Trustees, the governing body of the university, is comprised of an 11-member board, one of whom is an undergraduate student. Students are nominated by the Council of Trustees, reviewed by the chancellor and then confirmed by the governor. The student trustee is a full voting member.
