KU to Host 10th Annual Social Work Conference Virtually this Friday, Nov. 5

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University will host the 10th annual Social Work in the Global Environment Conference titled, ‘Social Work in the Covid Environment: Long-term Impacts and Global-Local Challenges for Vulnerable Populations,’ 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5. All sessions will be virtual. The conference aims to contribute to the local-global perspective in social work with an emphasis on thinking on a global scale and acting at the local level.

The 10th annual conference will focus on the impacts of the pandemic on vulnerable populations with particular emphasis on the long-term impacts of COVID-19. There will be four sub-themes that the presentations will cover. Those topics include the history of pandemics, impacts, challenges and a social worker role in the COVID environment.

The Social Work in the Global Environment Conference is open to students, faculty, staff and community members interested in how the health and well-being of vulnerable populations are being impacted by the pandemic. Social work students, in addition to other humanities majors, are encouraged to join the virtual event.

The conference is free to attend, but registration is required. Registration is available online.
