2023 Social Justice Award Winners
The 2023 recipients of the Social Justice Awards, which were announced at the Commission on Human Diversity's 13th annual conference, include: Emonie Reviere, a graduate student who is pursuing a master's in clinical mental health; Isaiah Rivas who is pursuing a bachelor's in social work; and Samantha Smith who is pursuing a bachelor's in psychology. Award winners received Paw Bucks certificates and a "Be the Change" plaque.

Mobile Mammograms Returning to KU; Register Today
The Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute will bring its mobile mammography coach to Kutztown University Thursday, April 13. Screenings will take place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center parking lot. The screening service will be offered to women ages 40 and older who have not had a mammogram in the past year. The event is open to the entire community.

Student Trustee Search
Faculty and staff, please nominate those students who could best serve the university as its student trustee. Kutztown University Council of Trustees is searching for a new student trustee. A student is qualified if he/she is a full-time undergraduate student and will have completed 30 or more credits by the beginning of the 2023 fall semester, is in good standing, has a GPA of at least a 2.5 and will graduate no sooner than May 2025. The Council of Trustees, the governing body of the university, is composed of an eleven-member board, one of whom is an undergraduate student. The student trustee is a full-voting member of the council. The nomination deadline is April 7. All nominations must be submitted in writing and must include the student's name, email address and telephone number. We will immediately contact students nominated for the position.

Natasha Paremski in Recital
World-renowned pianist, Natasha Paremski, who reveals an astounding virtuosity and voracious interpretive abilities with her consistently striking and dynamic performances, will be in residence at Kutztown University April 3-6 and will perform a recital 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, Schaeffer Auditorium, with works by Chopin, Ades, Balakirev and Ravel. Paremski will also host master classes April 4-6.

Small Business Internship Initiative at KU
Sign up for this free training 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, 274 MSU. Topics will include accounting/budget, business financing, business plan, business start-up/preplanning, customer relations, internet/web training, managing a business, marketing/sales and social media technology. We are excited to introduce you to our Small Business Internship Initiative. This innovative program helps small businesses and college students connect and get the most out of their collaboration. At our in-person events, you have the opportunity to meet Kutztown University students who are looking for part-time and full-time employment. At this event, you have several options to help you expand your business. You can hire a student-intern for course credit, part- or full-time employee(s), or a May graduate. If you are looking to take your business to the next level but are not financially secure yet, consider hiring a summer worker. Summer positions provide students a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the job market, while not requiring a long-term commitment or salary from the employer.
