KU Veteras

Veterans Awareness Week

We had another successful Veterans Awareness Week. Many thanks to all the departments and offices who supported our Veteran and military-affiliated community either through contributions, event hosting, participation and general support. Additionally, our emergency fund increased through faithful R.E.D. button donations; we reached our goal again. Thank you for showing your appreciation to our student, faculty and staff veterans and for recognizing the value they bring to our KU family.

Weather

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger

Cold high pressure remains locked in over the area. The pressure gradient from yesterday’s departing low still keeping winds a bit up there, as well. The result of all this will be a mixture of clouds and sunshine with gusty northwest winds. The high will be about 43 with wind chills about 10 degrees below that-bundle up.

Starfish Task Force Willingness to Serve

We will be selecting one faculty member from each college, one non-teaching or staff member and two additional members will be appointed by the provost. Members of the taskforce will serve as a sounding board, testing group and idea-generating body in collaboration with our Starfish manager and one representative of the college-specific success team to improve our implementation. Membership will begin Spring 2023 and extend through Spring 2024. Members should anticipate several meetings each semester to provide support to the implementation process, with potentially fewer meetings in the later phases of the rollout.
