Department Name Change: Academic Advising and Student Development

We are happy to announce that the name of the Department of Academic Enrichment has now been changed to the Department of Academic Advising and Student Development, effective immediately. Our department houses the majors of Exploratory Studies and General Studies. We are still located in the lower level of the Rohrbach Library, Room 11. Please update any department listings with our new name.

2025-2026 Early Event Registration Deadline

The Events Advisory Council has established the deadline for early consideration for room reservations and activities scheduled for the 2025-26 academic year as noon Friday, March 14, 2025. For more detailed information and guidelines on the process, please visit our website
Please consider the following when planning your events for the 2025-26 academic year:
 - All requests must be entered by a faculty or staff member in the EMS Room Reservation System.
 - Any early reservation requests for a student organization must be submitted by that organization’s advisor.
 - Any events received after noon Friday, March 14, will be handled on a first-come basis.
 - All events submitted outside of the 2025-26 academic year will be handled at the appropriate time, according to scheduling policies.

January Assessment Day

We invite faculty to join us for January Assessment Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, 250 McFarland Student Union. Volunteers will go through a norming session together before lunch. Pairs will then break off to assess and rate student work products from Spring 2024 in SLO 6 categories B and D. Volunteers should plan to attend the entire day; the norming process is required to participate in the rating sessions. Please plan to bring a laptop. Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues and encourage them to attend. A reminder will be sent a week prior to the event. To register, please visit the link below.
